Day 1: Arrival in Singapore & A Relaxing Evening by the Waterfront
After arriving in Singapore, avoid the temptation to pack too much into your first day. Immigration is generally efficient, but by the time you’ve collected your luggage, travelled to your hotel, and checked in, you’ll likely appreciate a slower start to your holiday.
Use the afternoon to settle into your hotel, freshen up, and recharge before heading out to experience Singapore’s beautiful waterfront after sunset.
Check In and Relax
If you’re staying around Marina Bay or City Hall, you’ll be perfectly positioned for an easy first evening. Most hotels in this area are well connected by MRT and within walking distance of several iconic attractions.
Take some time to unwind after your journey. If you’re arriving in the afternoon, enjoy your hotel’s facilities, have a coffee, or simply relax before beginning your Singapore adventure.
Spend the Evening at Clarke Quay
As the weather cools down, make your way to Clarke Quay, one of Singapore’s liveliest waterfront districts. Once a historic trading hub, it has been transformed into a vibrant promenade lined with colourful heritage buildings, riverside restaurants, cafés, and bars.
Even if you’re not interested in the nightlife, Clarke Quay is a wonderful place for a leisurely evening walk. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, with music, illuminated bridges, and reflections dancing across the Singapore River.
Optional: Singapore River Cruise
One of the best ways to begin your trip is with a Singapore River Cruise. Traditional bumboats glide along the river, offering a unique perspective of the city’s skyline.
The cruise passes several famous landmarks, including:
- Clarke Quay
- Boat Quay
- Marina Bay
- Merlion Park
- Fullerton Hotel
- Marina Bay Sands
- Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay
The ride lasts around 40 minutes and is especially beautiful after dark when Singapore’s skyline is illuminated.
Time Required: 45–60 minutes
Walk Around Marina Bay
After the cruise, continue your evening with a stroll around Marina Bay. The wide waterfront promenade is beautifully maintained and offers some of the best views in Singapore.
As you walk, you’ll pass iconic attractions such as the Merlion, Marina Bay Sands, the Helix Bridge, and the lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum. The city lights reflected on the bay create a memorable first impression of Singapore.
If your timing aligns, you can also watch the free Spectra Light & Water Show outside Marina Bay Sands before returning to your hotel.
Optional Add-On: Dinner by the River
If you’re not too tired after your flight, end the evening with dinner at one of the many riverside restaurants in Clarke Quay or along the Marina Bay waterfront. From authentic Singaporean dishes to international cuisine, there’s something to suit every taste and budget.

The highlight for most visitors is the Cloud Forest, where a mist-covered mountain houses one of the world’s tallest indoor waterfalls. Elevated walkways lead through a cool rainforest environment filled with rare plants, orchids, and carnivorous species from tropical highlands.
Next, visit the Flower Dome, the world’s largest glass greenhouse. It recreates Mediterranean and semi-arid climates, featuring seasonal floral displays, olive trees, baobabs, and colourful blooms that change throughout the year.
Before leaving, take time to stroll through the Supertree Grove. These towering vertical gardens have become one of Singapore’s most recognizable landmarks and are just as impressive during the day as they are when illuminated at night.

👉 Travelling with Kids?
Families should plan to spend extra time at Gardens by the Bay. Besides the conservatories, children often enjoy exploring the outdoor gardens, open spaces, and interactive play areas. If you’re visiting during warmer months, the nearby Far East Organization Children’s Garden is a fantastic spot where kids can cool off in the water play zone, so remember to pack a change of clothes

After experiencing Singapore’s futuristic skyline, spend your third day discovering its rich cultural heritage, green spaces, and vibrant shopping scene. From colourful shophouses and historic temples to one of the city’s most Instagram-worthy attractions and its premier shopping boulevard, today offers a wonderful mix of history, fun, and modern city life.
The attractions are well connected by MRT and taxi, making it an easy day to explore at a relaxed pace.

Today, visitors can enjoy shaded walking trails, colonial landmarks, archaeological sites, and beautifully landscaped gardens. It’s a refreshing escape from the city’s busy streets and an excellent place for a leisurely stroll.
Photography enthusiasts will especially enjoy the iconic Fort Canning Tree Tunnel, one of Singapore’s most recognizable Instagram spots.

Alternatively, visit the National Museum of Singapore or the Asian Civilisations Museum for a deeper insight into the country’s history and culture.
👉 Add: Clarke Quay
If you still have energy after Orchard Road, head to Clarke Quay for a lively riverside evening. The area comes alive after dark with waterfront restaurants, live music, bars, and beautifully illuminated bridges. It’s an excellent place to enjoy dessert, a late-night drink, or simply soak in the vibrant atmosphere along the Singapore River.

Day 4: Wildlife Adventure at Mandai Wildlife Reserve
Spend your fourth day immersed in nature at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, home to some of Singapore’s most popular wildlife attractions. Surrounded by lush rainforest, the reserve offers a unique opportunity to see animals in spacious, naturalistic habitats while learning about global conservation efforts.
This itinerary combines two of the reserve’s signature experiences—the Singapore Zoo during the day and the Night Safari after sunset. Together, they provide an unforgettable wildlife experience that appeals to visitors of all ages.
Since both attractions are located within the same complex, you can easily explore them in one day without travelling across the city.
Morning to Afternoon: Singapore Zoo
Begin your day at the Singapore Zoo, consistently ranked among the world’s best zoos. Unlike traditional zoos, the animals here are housed in open, naturalistic enclosures separated by moats and carefully designed barriers, creating a more immersive experience for visitors.
The zoo is home to more than 4,000 animals representing over 300 species from around the world. As you explore the beautifully landscaped trails, you’ll encounter orangutans swinging overhead, majestic white tigers, elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, kangaroos, and many other fascinating animals.
Interactive feeding sessions, keeper talks, and educational presentations take place throughout the day, making the visit engaging for both adults and children.
The zoo is also well-equipped with shaded pathways, restaurants, cafés, drinking water stations, and rest areas, allowing you to explore comfortably even in Singapore’s tropical climate.
Recommended Time: 4–5 hours
Highlights
- Orangutan habitat
- Elephant of Asia
- Fragile Forest walkthrough
- Wild Africa zone
- Reptile Kingdom
- Animal feeding sessions (advance booking may be required)
Lunch Break
Enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants inside the wildlife reserve before taking a short break. Since the Night Safari begins after sunset, you’ll have time to relax before your evening adventure.
Evening: Night Safari
As darkness falls, prepare for one of Singapore’s most iconic experiences—the Night Safari, the world’s first nocturnal wildlife park.
Instead of viewing animals during the day, visitors explore the reserve after sunset, when many species become active. The park is home to over 900 nocturnal animals, including leopards, hyenas, fishing cats, elephants, tapirs, and many other fascinating creatures rarely seen awake during daytime visits.
The highlight of the experience is the guided tram ride, which travels through different geographical zones representing habitats from Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Along the way, informative commentary introduces the animals and their behaviours.
After the tram ride, several walking trails allow visitors to get even closer to selected exhibits and observe nocturnal wildlife at their own pace.
Depending on the schedule, you may also wish to watch the Creatures of the Night Presentation, where trainers showcase the natural abilities and behaviours of various nocturnal animals.

This river-themed wildlife park is famous for its Giant Panda Forest, freshwater aquariums, and the Amazon River Quest boat ride, where animals can be spotted along the riverbanks.
Adding River Wonders creates a complete wildlife experience but also makes for a long day, so plan your pace accordingly.
👉 Travelling with Young Kids?
Families with younger children may prefer spending the entire day at Singapore Zoo and skipping the Night Safari. The zoo offers plenty to see, along with play areas, feeding sessions, and interactive experiences that can easily fill a full day without feeling rushed.
👉 Arriving Late?
If you won’t reach Mandai until late afternoon, skip the daytime zoo and focus solely on the Night Safari. It’s one of Singapore’s most unique attractions and can comfortably be enjoyed in an evening without feeling rushed.
Travel Tips
Book your tickets online in advance, especially during weekends and school holidays.
Wear lightweight clothing and comfortable walking shoes, as you'll cover several kilometres throughout the day.
Carry a refillable water bottle and insect repellent for the evening.
Arrive early for the Night Safari tram, as queues tend to build up after sunset.

Day 5: Move to Sentosa Island & Enjoy Singapore’s Entertainment Hub
After four exciting days exploring Singapore’s city attractions, it’s time to slow the pace and move to Sentosa Island, the country’s premier leisure destination. Known for its theme parks, beaches, luxury resorts, and family-friendly attractions, Sentosa offers a completely different atmosphere from downtown Singapore.
Check out of your city hotel after breakfast and transfer to your resort on Sentosa. Depending on your check-in time, you can leave your luggage with the hotel concierge and begin exploring the island right away.
Morning: Check Out & Transfer to Sentosa
Most hotels have a check-out time of around 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM. Sentosa is easily accessible via taxi, the Sentosa Express monorail from VivoCity, or the scenic Singapore Cable Car if you’d like to begin your island experience with spectacular views.
After arriving, check into your hotel or leave your bags before heading to your first attraction.

The park is divided into several themed zones, including Hollywood, New York, Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi City, Far Far Away, The Lost World, and Madagascar-inspired family areas. Each zone features immersive rides, live performances, character meet-and-greets, themed restaurants, and souvenir shops.
Thrill seekers shouldn’t miss attractions like Battlestar Galactica, Revenge of the Mummy, and Transformers: The Ride, while families with younger children will enjoy gentler rides, entertaining shows, and interactive experiences throughout the park.

It’s an excellent choice for families, especially on warm, sunny days.
👉 Prefer a More Relaxed Day?

Purchase Universal Studios tickets in advance to save time.
If visiting during peak seasons, consider an Express Pass to reduce waiting times.
Wear comfortable footwear, as you'll spend most of the day walking.
Carry a refillable water bottle and sunscreen, especially if you'll be outdoors for long periods.

Day 6: Relax and Unwind on Sentosa Island
After an action-packed day at Sentosa’s attractions, slow the pace and enjoy the island’s natural beauty. Today is all about relaxing by the beach, exploring one of Singapore’s newest attractions, and taking in spectacular aerial views aboard the Singapore Cable Car.
With fewer attractions on the agenda, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy your resort, stroll along the coastline, or simply soak up Sentosa’s laid-back atmosphere before returning to the city for your final night.
Morning: Relax at Palawan Beach
Start your day at Palawan Beach, one of Sentosa’s most popular beaches and an excellent place to unwind.
Known for its soft golden sand, calm waters, and swaying palm trees, Palawan Beach is perfect for a leisurely morning walk or simply relaxing by the sea. Families will appreciate the shallow waters and nearby play areas, while couples and solo travellers can enjoy the peaceful surroundings before the crowds arrive.
One of the beach’s highlights is the suspension bridge leading to the small islet often promoted as the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia. Whether or not you venture across, the bridge offers lovely views and plenty of photo opportunities.

During the day, it’s a pleasant place for a leisurely stroll through lush greenery and contemporary design. As evening approaches, the walkway transforms with artistic lighting and digital projections, creating a magical atmosphere that’s particularly enjoyable after sunset.
The route is mostly flat and easy to walk, making it suitable for visitors of all ages.
Recommended Time: 1–2 hours

Aquarium, the Oceanarium offers immersive exhibits showcasing marine ecosystems, conservation initiatives, and fascinating sea creatures from around the world. It’s an excellent option for families and marine life enthusiasts.
👉 Prefer a Resort Holiday?
If your goal is to relax, skip the attractions altogether and enjoy a full day at your resort. Lounge by the pool, spend time on the beach, indulge in a spa treatment, or enjoy a leisurely lunch with ocean views. Sentosa’s luxury resorts are attractions in themselves, and slowing down before the final day of your trip can be just as rewarding as sightseeing.

Day 7: Changi Airport Stay & A Memorable Farewell to Singapore
Most itineraries treat departure day as little more than a trip to the airport, but Singapore offers the opportunity to make your final day just as memorable as the rest of your holiday. Instead of rushing from your hotel to catch your flight, consider spending your last night at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport or another airport hotel.
Regularly ranked among the world’s best airports, Changi Airport is far more than a transport hub. Connected to the spectacular Jewel Changi, it offers lush indoor gardens, world-class dining, shopping, entertainment, and one of Singapore’s most photographed attractions—the iconic Rain Vortex.
This is a relaxed and stress-free way to end your trip, especially if you have an early morning or late-night flight.

Jewel Changi is a destination in itself and can easily keep visitors entertained for several hours.
The complex combines nature, architecture, shopping, dining, and entertainment under one enormous glass dome. Wander through beautifully landscaped indoor gardens, browse international brands and local boutiques, or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere before heading home.

The highlight of Jewel Changi is undoubtedly the HSBC Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall.
Cascading from the centre of the glass dome into the lush Shiseido Forest Valley, the 40-metre waterfall is impressive during the day and becomes even more magical in the evening when accompanied by a light and sound show.
Multiple viewing platforms on different levels provide unique perspectives, making it one of Singapore’s most photographed attractions.
